Recipe: Agarasa

Okinawan Brown Sugar Steamed Bread
These little buns of joy are a perfect pick me up when in need of a speedy, sweet treat. Perfect to give as gifts instead of the convectional cupcake, or not to share at all!
Ingredients:
100g brown sugar (100g)
200g plain flour
200ml milk
Pinch of salt
2 tsp of baking powder
Method:
Mix the brown sugar, flour, milk, salt, and baking powder in a bowl until it forms a crumb-like texture.
Spoon the mixture into paper cups (or cup cake cases) and sprinkle brown sugar on top.

Steam for 10 minutes using a bamboo steamer
(Alternatively make your own steamer by placing 4 balls of tin foil into a saucepan filled with water. Find a heat proof plate which fits inside the plan and place over the 4 balls ensuring it sits above the water line. Cover the saucepan with a lid and leave to steam for 10 minutes).
